Donald Trump announced on social media that he has agreed to debate Kamala Harris on September 4, hosted by Fox News. It is unclear if Harris has also agreed to the debate. This would be the first face-to-face showdown between Trump and his new 2024 opponent following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race. The event would take place in Pennsylvania, moderated by Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, with a live audience similar to Trump’s previous debate with Biden. Trump also mentioned that a second debate scheduled with Biden on September 10 has been terminated since Biden withdrew from the race. The status of additional debates has been uncertain since Biden’s exit. Representatives from both campaigns and Fox News could not be reached for immediate comment. Trump backed out of the ABC News debate in June due to uncertainty about his opponent, but Harris has since challenged him to reconsider and meet her on the debate stage, stating, “If you’ve got something to say, say it to my face!”
