Will Smith crushes 3 home runs against Brewers, joining elite company as 4th Dodgers catcher to achieve feat in one game

Los Angeles Dodgers’ catcher Will Smith made history on Friday night by hitting three home runs in one game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Smith joins the ranks of only three other Dodgers catchers to achieve this feat: Yasmani Grandal in 2016, Mike Piazza in 1996, and Hall of Famer Roy Campanella in 1950. Smith’s homers, his 12th, 13th, and 14th of the season, helped the Dodgers secure a win against the Brewers. The first two homers came on the first pitch from Aaron Civale in the first and third innings, giving the Dodgers an early lead. The third homer was hit off reliever Bryan Hudson in the seventh inning. In addition to his three home runs, Smith also drew a walk in another plate appearance. This outstanding performance by Smith is sure to be remembered as one of the highlights of his career. For more updates and news on MLB, visit the AP MLB site.
