An incident involving U.S. Marshals shooting an armed carjacking suspect in Northwest D.C. is currently under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. in the 2100 block of 11 Street, Northwest. According to reports, Deputy U.S. Marshals were parked in separate vehicles when the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Kentrell Flowers, exited a vehicle and attempted to carjack one of the Marshals at gunpoint. The Marshals responded by firing multiple shots at Flowers, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Flowers has been charged with armed carjacking, carrying a pistol without a license, and possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device. A firearm was recovered at the scene. The United States Attorney’s Office will review the facts and evidence of the case independently. No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
