One person was killed and 10 others were injured in a boat crash at Alamitos Bay in Southern California. The 48-foot boat crashed into the jetty around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, leading to a “mass casualty incident” involving 11 victims. One person was declared dead at the scene, while the others were taken to local hospitals, with three in critical condition. The cause of the accident has not been determined, but speed is suspected to be a factor, as the boat was reportedly traveling at around 40 mph. The Long Beach Fire Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
