President Joe Biden will be sitting down for his first television interview following the presidential debate on Friday with George Stephanopoulos on “Good Morning America” and “This Week.” This comes as some Democrats call for him to step down as the Democratic candidate for president due to his poor debate performance against Donald Trump. Initially, Biden’s team attributed his raspy voice during the debate to a cold, but he later claimed jet lag from recent travels overseas as the reason for his lackluster performance.
The interview with Biden will air on ABC News platforms on Friday, July 5 at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. CDT. A transcript of the unedited interview will be available the same day. A first look at the interview is set to air on “World News Tonight with David Muir” on Friday evening, with the full interview airing on “This Week” on Sunday.
Stephanopoulos, the anchor for “Good Morning America” and “This Week,” is a former Democratic Party advisor and had served as the White House communications director and senior advisor for President Bill Clinton. Viewers can watch Biden’s interview on ABC News programming and check local listings for showtimes.
